Rating: 4.5/5.0

“Fire Island” is the traditional New York summer Mecca of gay men, women and allies. In this take-off on Jane Austin’s “Pride and Prejudice,” the yearly island visitation ritual is played out by Noah (Joel Kim Booster), Howie (Bowen Yang) and their close fellow travelers, who are house-mothered by Erin (Margaret Cho), a lesbian who owns the summer crash pad. Noah is anxious for shy Howie to hook up, so he can feel free to do the same, but complications arise when a handsome doctor named Charlie (James Scully) has an eye for Howie and Will (Conrad Ricomora) wants more from Noah. Could this be the week that was?

”Fire Island” will stream on HULU beginning June 3rd. Featuring Joel Kim Booster, Bowen Yang, Margaret Cho, Conrad Ricamora and James Scully. Written by Joel Kim Booster. Directed by Andrew Ahn. Rated “R”
