The 2023 Oscar nominations for Best Animated Short Films are “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse,” “The Flying Sailor,” “Ice Merchants,” My Year of Dicks” and “An Ostrich Told Me the World is Fake.” For Best Live Action Short Films, the nominees are “An Irish Goodbye,” “Ivalu,” “Le Pupille,” “Night Ride” and “The Red Suitcase.” For Best Documentary Short Films, the nominees are “The Elephant Whisperers,” “Haulout,” “How Do You Measure a Year?,” “Stranger at the Gate” and “The Martha Mitchell Effect.”

Shorts TV presents the 2023 Oscar Nominated Short Films, currently in select theaters (see local listings) including Chicago’s Music Box Theatre, The Logan Theatre and Gene Siskel Film Center, among others. Not Rated, but with adult themes.
