Jonny Baptiste (Kiah McKirnan) is a reckless teen sent to live with her estranged Aunt Hildie (Alicia Silverstone). On her 18th birthday, she experiences a radical metamorphosis … a passed-through-the-generations spell that redefines her called Forevering. When several teen girls go missing at her new school, a mythically feral Jonny goes after the Perpetrator.

Jennifer Reeder emerges again, as her reputation evolves in the horror space. But her films are much more than is on the surface, with feminist themes of a woman’s quest for strength, safety and freedom in an increasingly cruel world. “Perpetrator” is also about the passion of generations nurturing these women, who have learned to survive through guile, power and intellect. Reeder’s metaphors also contain chilling horror, both through the metamorphosis of Jonny and the comeuppance of the societal element that relies on violence to achieve a means to the end. Perpetrator is another passionate work of cinema from Reeder, a rising genre star.
Jennifer Reeder’s major directorial feature debut was “Signature Move” (2017), followed by “Knives and Skin” (2019, also writer) and “Night’s End” (2022). Along the journey she has over a dozen short films, many of them major festival award winners. She matriculated from The Ohio State University and got her Masters of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
