CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Dan Baker on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on June 6th, reviewing “Hit Man,” featuring Glen Powell (also co-writer) and directed by Richard Linklater (“School of Rock”). Streaming on Netflix beginning June 7th.

Gary Johnson (Powell) is a professor of philosophy at the University of New Orleans. While helping the police on the side in investigation techniques, he is asked to go undercover as a hit man, mostly to coerce folks into getting busted for trying to hire him. When Madison (Adria Arjona) solicits his services, his attraction to her throws him off the undercover gig, and his subsequent relationship with her complicates matters further. When fellow cop Jasper (Austin Amelio) starts to suspect something, Gary’s cover is about to be compromised.

“Hit Man” is streaming on Netflix beginning June 7th. Featuring Glen Powell, Adria Arjona, Retta, Austin Amelio and Evan Holtzman. Written by Richard Linklater and Glen Powell. Directed by Richard Linklater. Rated “R”
