NEW YORK CITY – “Twilight” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” star Robert Pattinson on Thursday was hit by a New York City cab while attempting to escape his rabid fans, according to a report moments ago from RadarOnline.com.

Just grazed while his five handlers were quickly navigating Pattinson across the street away from a gaggle of teenaged girls gone Lady Gaga in the rain, Pattinson was momentarily stunned but not hurt. The taxi slammed on its brakes.
The cab clipping was witnessed by RadarOnline.com around noon New York time on Thursday in front of the Strand Bookstore on Broadway and 12th Street.
Born in London, the 23-year-old heartthrob had been filming “Remember Me” indoors for most of Thursday morning. “Remember Me” stars Robert Pattinson, Pierce Brosnan, Emilie de Ravin, Chris Cooper and Lena Olin from director Allen Coulter and writers Will Fetters and Jenny Lumet. The film is slated to open on Feb. 12, 2010.
Pattinson was recently quoted in a GQ cover story about his fears when immediately being inundated by a crazed crowd. He specifically said in that story “someone could very easily stab me”. A new video from RadarOnline.com of fans mobbing Pattinson can be watched here and photos are here.
“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed and Bronson Pelletier from director Chris Weitz. “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 20, 2009.

I have read this and also saw the video and OMGoodness!!! I can’t believe people would treat another human being this way! This poor man can’t even walk a few blocks without being mobbed by crazed fans. I am a HUGE Twilight fan and would NEVER walk up to him if I did see him let alone run up to him screaming. What are these girls thinking!!!!! I just can’t believe it. Let the poor man BE. He has said he is afaird to walk down the street and I laughed thinking he was blowing things up but after watching the video… He needs to just stay inside! But of course he shouldn’t have to!!! These girls need to remember they are fans and act like fans instead of acting like a bounch of crazy people. GROW UP and let this poor man BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That goes for all famous people not just the Twilight stars! The nerve of some people!

What are these girls thinking *&(*)! He is very handsome and talented - but like you said, he is human and has feelings too. Get a clue - that’s not the latest way to “pick-up” a man! If I ever caught my daughters acting like those girls - let’s just say it would be a very bad day for them!! I only hope Rob never leaves the industry because of this madness. He is extremely talented and I love his movies/music. Hey - I volunteer to be a bodyguard for him. I would love to teach some of those over-hormonal, rude and obnnoxious girls some manners and a lesson or 2!
