Bryce Dallas Howard to Play Victoria in ‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

CHICAGO – Rachelle Lefevre will be replaced in the third “Twilight” film, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” by “Terminator: Salvation” star Bryce Dallas Howard, according to Summit Entertainment, the producers of the films based on the Stephenie Meyer books that star Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions, said in a statement released to Access Hollywood, “We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise. Rachelle brought ‘Victoria’ to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”

Summit also confirmed that Lefevre will not be continuing on as Rachelle, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts. She starred in “Twilight” and will star in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” begins filming in Vancouver next month under director David Slade and will be released in theaters on June 30, 2010.

Before that, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is being released on November 20th, 2009. Cast members in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” include Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning, and Michael Sheen.

“Twilight,” which stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner from director Catherine Hardwicke, has grossed $178 million domestically. This has put the “New Moon” sequel into production immediately with a November release and adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s sequels “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn” announced.
