CHICAGO – The R&B singer/songwriter Khalid burst onto the music scene the same day he graduated from high school. His debut single “Location” was released in July of 2016 and peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart … and was later certified quadruple platinum. His debut studio album, “American Teen,” was released on March 3rd, 2017. Since then he has achieved several top ten hits, including the song “Young Dumb and Broke,” a number one album and five Grammy nominations.

CHICAGO – Nanette Burstein, known mostly for her excellent documentaries “The Kid Stays in the Picture” and “American Teen,” makes her narrative feature film director debut with the comedy “Going the Distance,” with Drew Barrymore, Justin Long, Jason Sudeikis, Christina Applegate and Jim Gaffigan.

CHICAGO – The concept of “American Teen” is undeniably interesting but the execution is another story and the DVD assembled by Paramount to bring this acclaimed film to home audiences is a disappointment on nearly every level.

CHICAGO – “High school is actually really important. It’s about formulating an identity, getting a path and sticking to it. A lot of the ghosts in your head that are critical can come from your high school years,” director Nanette Burstein said on her new documentary “American Teen”.
