The comedian, actor, author and entrepreneur recently wrote a new book, “Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People!,” which is her wacky perspective on crafting and entertaining.

CHICAGO – Ricky Martin had quite the 2010. The pop sensation who placed “Livin’ La Vida Loco” into our collective consciousness also publicly acknowledged being gay in March. This led to the publication of his new book, “Me” (“Yo” in Spanish), and an appearance at Borders Books Lincoln Park in Chicago.

CHICAGO – The mega-popular singer Josh Groban is about to add another multi-selling note to his marketability. On November 22th on the Oprah show, Groban will be named one of her “Ultimate Favorite Things” and will perform a special duet with Johnny Mathis.

CHICAGO – Jenny McCarthy is at again, penning another one of her “Naked Truth” books, this time about relationships. The prolific Ms. McCarthy is back on the shelves with “Love, Lust & Faking It: The Naked Truth about Sex, Lies and True Romance.” She appeared at Border Books in Oakbrook, IL, on October 11th.

CHICAGO – Head banging and air guitaring was the order of the day a couple weeks ago, as Dave Mustaine of the group Megadeth made an appearance at the Borders Books in Chicago on State Street to greet fans and sign his new book, “Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir.”

CHICAGO – As Ozzfest, the summer music jam anchored by Ozzy Osbourne, rolls through Chicago on Tuesday, August 17th, former Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde brought his new band, Black Label Society, to rock at the fest. He also had time to greet fans here on Monday at Borders Books State Street.

CHICAGO – Shaquille O’Neal AKA Shaq AKA Shaq-Fu, is a famous basketballer known by many names. Currently with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he took a break to be with his mother, Lucille O’Neal, as they appeared at Borders Books.

CHICAGO – Jeff Garlin wears his love for his native Chicago on his sleeve. When not cheering for the Cubs and the Bears, he does a little HBO TV show called “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and has just written a new book.
