Submitted by BrianTT on September 10, 2012 - 8:54amCHICAGO – HBO finally broke through with their first major new comedy successes since “Entourage” this year with the amazing “Girls” and “Veep.” There were a few growing pains between the critical darlings however, a trio of shows that never quite took off like their breakthrough network hoped they would. And yet there are things to like about at least two of them and they probably have some loyal audiences who want to own them on Blu-ray. Now they can.
TV News: HBO Renews ‘Enlightened,’ Cancels Three Other Series
Submitted by BrianTT on December 20, 2011 - 1:14pmCHICAGO – HBO has such a limited amount of series and so many critical darlings that when they announce a renewal or a cancellation it carries more weight than most networks. TV Review: ‘Bored to Death’ is Consistently Quirky, Funny
Submitted by PatrickMcD on September 26, 2010 - 7:19amCHICAGO – The ability of HBO to launch a series and let it develop is one of the true advantages of their subscription system. Of course that and no censorship issues. The series “Bored to Death” begins its second season on September 26th at 9pm CST, featuring Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis.
TV Review: ‘Bored to Death’ Has Title More Truthful Than Ironic
Submitted by BrianTT on September 20, 2009 - 1:13pmCHICAGO – Maybe it’s an ironic, surreal joke but the most common thought that I kept having during the first three episodes of “Bored to Death” was, well, “bored”.
