CHICAGO – I’m Jeff Doles, Music Editor at HollywoodChicago.com.

In this opinion series, I’ll delve into some of my favorite hard rock bands that in my view didn’t get the recognition they deserved. WEST DUNDEE, Ill. – The Darbies are a rock n roll quartet forged in the majestic and azure city-tide of the west end of Los Angeles. Like many bands before them, The Darbies are tinged with that peculiar, mythic brilliance that characterizes the musical portraiture of the teeming Los Angeles soundscape. Young, ambitious, persistent and forged with an undeniable devil-may-care-vintage-rock swagger, The Darbies are climbing to the top with a rapidity matched only by the sweltering charisma of their captivating musical presence, and breathtakingly cathartic live performances.

WEST DUNDEE, Ill. – It’s been almost five years since rock singer Mike Tramp announced that his signature group, White Lion, was finally over. White Lion was a Danish/American rock band that began in 1983, and had their biggest hits four years later on the album “Pride” … “Wait” and “When Children Cry.” Mike Tramp performed at the RocHaus in West Dundee on Saturday, March 9th, 2019, and brought his acoustic guitar, rustic voice and passion for singing/storytelling to the stage.
