CHICAGO – The kids of “Glee” are back a little early this year as FOX has released the third season of the hit musical comedy earlier than the wave of TV-on-Blu-ray releases that are about to hit stores. This season was a bit of a letdown after the first two, earning much fewer Emmy nominations and sliding pretty far in the ratings. And the Blu-ray release feels like a step down from previous years as well. True fans will be happy but newcomers should obviously start with seasons one or two.

CHICAGO – “Battleship” is getting a lot of flack this week for having little to do with its alleged source. I would argue that the awful “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” is even more dishonest when it comes to its inspiration.

CHICAGO – It’s no accident that Jane Lynch is one of hottest performers of the moment, despite the title of her new book, “Happy Accidents.” The talented and hilarious Ms. Lynch memorably portrays Sue Sylvester on the popular FOX show, “Glee,” and had time to host the Emmys this year.

CHICAGO – You truly know that something has become a phenomenon when a studio begins to take advantage of its fans with repetitive releases designed to pry open the purses or wallets of teenagers who must have everything related to their favorite pop culture trend. Witness “Glee: Encore,” a Blu-ray release with nothing new and little reason for anyone who owns the excellent first season to pick it up.

CHICAGO – We at HollywoodChicago.com have reviewed dozens of HD season TV sets and the one for the first season of FOX’s beloved “Glee” is easily one of the best yet released. It plays perfectly to both fans of the show and those who have never seen it before, making it the collector’s item that it should be along with expanding the audience of its program. Other studios should take notes (no pun intended).

CHICAGO – FOX hit “Glee” returns tonight, hoping to not only keep the rabidly-loyal fans it earned in its critically-acclaimed first season but even pick up a new ones curious about what this Emmy-winning show has to offer. CHICAGO – Before the first season has even concluded, FOX announced that they have renewed their massive hit show “Glee” for a third season, clearly confident in the long-term potential of this award-winning series. Peter Rice, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group; and Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company made the announcement today via press release.

CHICAGO – We have written here several times about the genius of “Glee” (in May and again in September), but with the show having been off the air for a few weeks so the Yankees could win another World Series, we thought it was a good time to assess how the show has been progressing by taking an advanced look at tonight’s episode, the wonderful “Wheels”.

CHICAGO – Ryan Murphy’s brilliant “Glee” is not only the best new show of the year, it’s off to one of the best starts for any series in the last several fall seasons. Much closer to Alexander Payne’s “Election” than Disney’s “High School Musical,” this is a clever blend of satire, pop tunes, laugh-out-loud comedy, and rich, interesting characters that you simply shouldn’t miss.

CHICAGO – Much closer to Alexander Payne’s “Election” than Disney’s “High School Musical,” the pilot for Ryan Murphy’s “Glee” is one of the best of the last several years, a clever blend of satire, pop tunes, laugh-out-loud comedy, and rich, interesting characters. The one thing I kept thinking during the pilot of “Glee”? This is too good for network TV. It will never last.
