CHICAGO – Well, now this is a bit unpredictable. While the other networks have fallen relatively in line with predictions (CBS, NBC, and ABC have yet to do anything that we didn’t predict in our feature earlier this week), The CW is shaking it up a bit as they just announced the renewal of “Nikita,” “Hart of Dixie,” and “Gossip Girl” (for a sixth and final season of 11 episodes) while TV By the Numbers reports that the network has signed on five new dramas. Where do they put them?

CHICAGO- The CW officially announced its schedule of finale episodes today, as well as the premiere date of a new series. The new series “The L.A. Complex” is set to premiere on Tuesday, April 24, while several shows, including the series finale of “One Tree Hill,” have their finale date set.

CHICAGO – None are doing well by traditional ratings scales but The CW doesn’t have the same expectations as other networks and so they not-too-surprisingly gave full-season orders to new shows “Hart of Dixie,” “Ringer,” and “The Secret Circle” this week, ending speculation that one might be canceled. Given the low ratings for all of them, especially “Secret,” one can safely assume that they had nothing interesting waiting in the wings to replace them.

CHICAGO – It feels like only yesterday that we were naming the most promising shows of 2011 (and would like to point out that our #1 was the first program given a full-season order for just one second).

CHICAGO – With new shows, it’s always about week two. How far do you drop from the highly-promoted week one numbers when there aren’t as many ads or reviews to remind viewers you’re on the air? CBS’s “Unforgettable” and FOX’s “New Girl” held strong from their week one numbers while “Glee” continued to slide from year to year.

CHICAGO – Demographic numbers aren’t in yet and there certainly isn’t a story as huge as Monday night’s ludicrous ratings for “Two and a Half Men,” but we thought you might want to know that FOX’s “New Girl” and CBS’s “Unforgettable” seem to be off to good starts. “Glee” was down in its season premiere while “Ringer” dropped in its second week.

CHICAGO – The highly-buzzed “Ringer” essentially kicks off the Fall 2011 season tonight by bringing back one of the most beloved TV stars of the last twenty years in Sarah Michelle Gellar.

CHICAGO – Do you want the good news or the bad news, TV fans? The good news is that the upcoming crop of new Fall programs from the five major networks (totaling 27 new shows) is not as bad as last year’s incredibly-horrible debut slate. The bad news is that it’s still pretty bad. There is no “Lost,” no “Glee,” no “Modern Family,” no instant stand-outs of any kind.

CHICAGO – ABC Family’s “The Lying Game” is a so-so soap but it’s elevated beyond that by a young lady with the kind of screen presence that virtually announces that she will be a star. There’s nothing you can do or say about it. It’s just going to happen.
