CHICAGO – “Undefeated” takes some time to connect. It’s like a football team that starts slow and can’t quite find the right play calls for the first quarter. I’ll admit to being nonplussed at the start of the film as it seemed unfocused and a bit disconnected. Then something amazing happens.

CHICAGO – Big news in the streaming/online rental world. Netflix and The Weinstein Company have signed an agreement that will give Netflix the access to hit Weinstein Company films before they appear on pay cable channels. This is a big triumph for Netflix, who as we all know was struggling over the last year due to some questionable increases in rate.

CHICAGO – Three crowd-pleasing films were selected by audiences at the 47th Chicago International Film Festival as their favorites of the year. A record 50 percent of festivalgoers participated in the selection of this year’s winners of the American Airlines Audience Choice Award.
