CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Scott Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on December 17th, 2020, reviewing the new film “The Midnight Sky,” which will stream on Netflix beginning December 23rd.

George Clooney directs and portrays Augustine, a sixtysomething scientist in 2049 whose life’s work is to assist the space program to find habitable planets. One such mission is the Ether, with a space crew portrayed by Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Tiffany Boone, Demian Bichir and Kyle Chandler. They found a moon on Jupiter that’s livable, but hasn’t heard from Earth for awhile. It turns out a radiation spike has wiped out life on our planet, and only Clooney’s character – trapped in an Arctic lab with an orphaned girl – can warn them.
