Video Game News: Irrational Games Releases New ‘Bioshock Infinite’ Trailer

CHICAGO – The highly anticipated third game in the popular “Bioshock” series gained even more hype when Irrational Games premiered a new trailer at the Spike Video Game Awards this past Saturday. The minute-and-a-half trailer gives fans in-engine footage from several different points and places in the game.

Escaping the underwater depths of Rapture that the first two games were set in, “Bioshock Infinite” takes place in a time period before the first two games and in Columbia, a city in the sky that is slowly collapsing. Players will play as agent Booker DeWitt, who is on a mission to rescue a woman named Elizabeth that is trapped in Columbia.

The new trailer does not feature any in-game sound to accompany the visuals, but it does feature a very pretty song performed by Courtnee Draper, who voices Elizabeth in the game. “Bioshock Infinite” is planned for a 2012 release, although the game has not yet been given a specific release date.
