Via Zoom: Ryan Saunders of 17th CineYouth Fest, April 22-24, 2022

CHICAGO – The future is now at the 2022 CineYouth Festival, taking place this upcoming weekend in person, April 22nd-24th, at FACETS in Chicago. The 17th annual CineYouth features 71 international short films from creators that are children, teens and young adults up to 22 years old. The Festival Director is Ryan Saunders.

Tawni O’Dell experienced that honor in 2000, for her novel “Back Roads.” Fast forward years later, and O’Dell adapted that novel – with Adrian Lyne – into a screenplay that became the film “Back Roads,” which screened at the 17th Tribeca Film Festival on April 20th, 2018.

NEW YORK CITY – The 17th Edition of the Tribeca Film Festival continues through April 29th, 2018, but the main jury awards were announced on April 26th at Awards Night ceremonies. “DIane,” directed by Kent Jones, was awarded Best U.S. Narrative Feature. “Smuggling Hendrix” took the honors for Best International Narrative Feature, and “Island of Hungry Ghosts” was Best Documentary Feature.

Live from the Beacon Theatre on April 18th, 2018, will be “Love, Gilda.” This documentary on the life of “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) superstar Gilda Radner kicks off the two week festival, April 18th through April 29th.
