CHICAGO – Liam Neeson “Released the Superstars” on October 13th, 2018, as the all-star cast of the new film “Widows” walked the Red Carpet before a premiere screening at the 54th Chicago International Film Festival. Joining Liam was Oscar winner Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez (“Fast & Furious” series), as well as supporting actors Cynthia Erivo and Brian Tyree Henry, plus author/screenplay adapter Gillian Flynn and director Steve McQueen (“12 Years a Slave”).
“Widows” is a highly anticipated film for fall, and the story involves the widows of four armed robbers who are killed at a failed heist attempt, only to have those left-behind wives to step in and finish the job. The All-Star cast includes Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Cynthia Erivo, Jacki Weaver, Robert Duvall and Liam Neeson, and director Steve McQueen (“12 Years a Slave”) continues his reputation for delivering unusual, in-depth and quality storytelling. The movie was filmed in Chicago, and was adapted for the screen (with McQueen) by best-selling author Gillian Flynn (“Gone Girl”). Widows opens nationwide on November 16th.
