DAY FIVE Podtalk: Producer Gigi Pritzker at the 55th Chicago International Film Festival

CHICAGO – Another member of the notable Pritzker family has been making a name, in this instance the film business. Gigi Pritzker is a veteran producer who has guided films like “Drive,” “The Way Way Back” and “Hell or High Water.” She walked the Red Carpet on Opening Night (October 16th, 2019) of the 55th Chicago International Film Festival for her new film as producer, “Motherless Brooklyn.”

The Chicago International Film Festival Celebrates DAY FIVE of the Windy City’s movie extravaganza. Today is the finale of INDUSTRY DAYS, with THE PITCH (1:30pm). Film recommendations include the new Dror Moreh documentary THE HUMAN FACTOR and the one of the hot new American films this fall, WAVES (also look for the Red Carpet for cast and director). Gigi Pritzker was born in Chicago, part of the notable financier and philanthropic family of the Midwest. She co-founded Odd Lot Entertainment in 2001 (renamed MWM Studios in 2017), and went on to be part of the productions noted above, along with “Rabbit Hole” (2011), “Ender’s Game” (2013) and the underrated “Landline” (2017). She has recently expanded her producer duties to television with Nat Geo’s “Genius” series, and “The Dragon Prince” for Netflix. She is the cousin of Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.
