CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Ben Thompson on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on July 29th, reviewing “DC League of Super-Pets,” an animated comedy/adventure featuring Krypto the Super Dog, opening in theaters beginning July 29th.

This is the story of Superman’s dog Krypto (voice of Dwayne Johnson) and his fear that he’ll lose his best friend Supes (John Krasinski) in anticipation of his engagement to Lois Lane (Olivia Wilde). This emotion gets put on the back burner when Lex Luther (Marc Maron) unleashes Orange Kryptonite to some unsuspecting shelter animals, and they all gain super powers. One of them, Lulu the Guinea Pig (Kate McKinnon), launches Luthor’s evil plan and manages to capture all of the Justice League. It’s up to Krypto, shelter dog Ace (Kevin Hart), Squirrel Chip (Diego Luna), Piggy PB (Vanessa Bayer) and Turtle Merton (Natasha Lyonne) to save the day.

DC League of Super-Pets” opens in theaters on July 29th. Featuring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, John Krasinski, Kate McKinnon, Diego Luna, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Marc Maron, Keanu Reeves and Olivia Wilde. Written by Jared Stern and John Whittington. Directed by Sam Levine and Jared Stern. Rated “PG
