CHICAGO – In the case of this Ginger and Geri, no choice needs to be made because they are one and the same. Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell was a member of the best selling female pop group in history, the Spice Girls. She appeared in Downers Grove (Illinois) for her new novel, “Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen.”

Photographer Joe Arce captured this Exclusive Photo before her sold-out meet, greet and book signing event last month, sponsored by Anderson’s Bookshop, at the historic Tivoli Theatre in Downer’s Grove. In her children’s middle school novel “Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen,” the title character is orphaned and alone, sent to a boarding school called Bloodstone Island. While acclimating, Rosie confronts a menacing deputy headmaster, a group of mean kids intent on destroying her, and shocking family secrets.

Geri Estelle Halliwell was born in Britain, and after secondary school worked as a model and TV presenter on the Turkish version of “Let’s Make a Deal.” In 1994, she answered an ad looking for singers to form a new girl pop group, along with eventual bandmates Melanie C, Mel B and Victoria (Adams) Beckham. After failing to gain traction under the name “Touch,” the group became the Spice Girls in and released “Spice’ in 1996. The album sold 30 million copies and launched the “Girls” into lexicon. “Ginger Spice” Halliwell left the group in 1998, but has subsequently toured with them again in 2007 and 2019. She has released solo albums and recently appeared in the film “Gran Turismo.” As a bonus, “Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen” also has a QR code which directs the reader to original songs by Halliwell.

”Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen” is available at Anderson’s Bookshop and wherever books are sold. Resource for this article was from Wikipedia.com.
