Dakota Johnson is Cassie Webb, a paramedic in early 2000s New York City. After suffering a near fatal drowning, she begins to have odd visions of events happening before they happen. She shares this power with Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim) who has visions of his demise through a team of Spider Women (Sydney Sweeney as Julia, Celeste O’Connor as Mattie and Isabela Merced as Anya). Both Cassie and Ezekiel have spider venom in their blood that was discovered in South America by Cassie’s mother in the 1970s. How they use these powers is the origin of “Madame Web.”
