CHICAGO – Sony sent over the brand-new preview for “The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day,” the highly anticipated sequel that opens on October 30th, 2009. The sequel to the massive cult hit was one of the biggest properties at Comic-Con this year and the preview is pretty cool. Stay tuned to HollywoodChicago.com for more coverage.

Synopsis: “THE BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY is the continuation of writer/director Troy Duffy’s tough, stylized cutting edge saga of the MacManus brothers played by Norman Reedus (American Gangster, Pandorum) and Sean Patrick Flanery (Powder, Suicide Kings). i have been looking high and low for answers, asking questions, and theater owners are looking at me like i have 2 heads. i know when it opens, but there has been NO publicity for the theatres where boondock 2 will show. i’m going crazy! please help! i’m originally from chicago, live in bloomington, IL, but am willing to drive to minnesota if i have to to watch it.

where it it committed to be shown in chicago? i’ll be right there when it is!

they are not releasing it

they are not releasing it nationwide, there are only a few select theatres, mostly in New England, NYC area, and California, where it will open on the 30th. they havent released any other dates…

And I live in Bloomington, IL too! Big need here for the movie!

Looks like a lotta Bloomington, IL folks are wanting to see this movie! Seeing that 3 people have already posted the need to see it here, I’m sure that means we represent at least 1,000 people each…AT LEAST! So, Sony, get Boondock Saints 2 All Saints Day put out here at the Wehrenberg, the Palace, or at the very least, that crappy Starplex in Normal, IL to show it. Dear Lord, at least get it put out in Peoria!

Not showing it in the Midwest before showing it in California!? Come ON! Ever hears ‘if it plays in Peoria…’? There’s a reason why middle-America is represented by Peoria! And Bloomington-Normal, Illinois (IL) is just the place to release this awesome movie!!!! Spend that Sony money where it’s gonna give you the best bang for your buck: Peoria/Bloomington-Normal IL area!! Release it here!!!

from bloomington too

wow there are a lot of people from bloomington on here, i love the first boondock saints and dont know why it isnt playing everywhere to begin with, im sure there are plenty of fans who want to go see it, and as far as peroria population wise bloomington is actually bigger than peroria (or maybe bloomington-normal is bigger im not sure which) and the fact that its not even playing in chicago is shocking, anyway they definately need to play it in more big cities and if they played it in bloomington o bet it would be tne biggest movie out right now, i gaurantee i’d see it at least twice myself and im many people would do the same

boondock w/not release in my area anytime soon

thank you shannon for the info. i guess i can only hope it shows in my area after it kicks mega ass on the coasts. there would be no other choice but to show it nationwide if that happens

*fingers crossed*

happy boondocking 10/30!

WTF! Denied in Peoria!

Is Sony not sure of All Saints Day’s potential success or is this just a ploy to creat intense buzz? Dump the crap Sony! For crissakes, just deliver what you know damn well we all want! Why get involved in its production and release if you thought otherwise? As much as I want to see it I’m NOT driving to New Jersey! Bloomington, IL. a big COLLEGE town….your true customer base, so get it at leats to there. People like us in Peoria wanna see some Saint-hood.

found it - saw it - LU-UVED IT!!!!!

oh my goodness you guys!

i saw it friday the 13th and no amount of bad luck on that day could’ve kept me away from the theater!

it was fantastic - it really was! great action and carnage galore! i have many favorite scenes: look for a scene with chinese mob at a warehouse and a “plan” by the brothers (sean and norman), another scence involves russian roulette and the father (billy); good stuff!! really, except for some editing issues, it was a great movie. the actors did their part, it was the job of the editor to piece the scenes together properly/correctly/fluidly and i’m afraid that wasn’t done as well as it could have been. i wish every BD fan the opportunity to see it on the big screen. it was wonderful

check out the IMDB boards and read my tale of conquering the bad luck of the day to see the movie.

in spite of the day, i would do it again in a heartbeat - the saints are worth every effort!
