CHICAGO – Season Seven of Chicago’s Asian Pop-Up Cinema (APUC) is coming to a close on Wednesday, November 14th, 2018, with the Midwest Premiere of “One Cut of the Dead,” the Japanese horror sensation that is breaking box office records and cleaning up in award acclaim. The special night includes an appearance by lead actor Takayuki Hamatsu.

CHICAGO – It’s another opening and another show, as Season Seven of Chicago’s Asian Pop-Up Cinema (APUC) starts it’s run of showcase films, beginning with South Korea’s “Adulthood” on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018. Director Kim In-seon and lead actress Lee Jae-in of “Adulthood” will appear on behalf of the film at the screening, which begins at 7pm at the AMC River East 21 theatre. CHICAGO – Season Six of Chicago’s Asian Pop-Up Cinema has been superior, and definitely ranks as one of their best. After showing the finest contemporary films of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China and India, Hong Kong is saved for the Closing Night Film on May 16th, 2018. “Tomorrow is Another Day” is the English title, and it was directed by Chan Tai-Lee and features Ling Man-Lung. Recently, as part of their Taiwan Cinema Days, APUC brought in director Huang Hsin-yao of “The Great Buddha +,” a meditation on class, religion and the ever present eye-in-the-sky video of the current era.
