CHICAGO – YIPPIE YIPPIE YIPPIE Fest it’s back, the 8th annual YippieFest is for the first time at the historic Chopin Theatre in Wicker Park. For three days – August 23rd, 24th and 25th, 2024 – the fest will present an unending variety of acts, plays, sketch and other stage performance arts. CHICAGO – In this spooky season of Halloween, why not get “Bewitched” by three women Sopranos, under the group name Tres Belle. CHICAGO – YippieFest, one of the great performance festivals in Chicago, is returning this upcoming weekend, August 19th, 20th and 21st at the Den Theatre in the Wicker Park neighborhood. Friday the 19th is music night, with a night of bands and groups, and Saturday/Sunday will be performance, with theatre, comedy, stand-up, dance and more.

CHICAGO – YIPPIE! It’s back. Coming off two years of cancellations, the performance event YIPPIE FEST 2022 will take place from Friday, August 19th through Sunday, August 21at at the Den Theatre, 1331 North Milwaukee, Chicago. CHICAGO – “High Fidelity” is back! The iconic 2000 film, which was set in Chicago, is being rebooted as a Hulu series featuring Zoë Kravitz.

CHICAGO – In a spectacular original work, the power of the theater comments upon the inequity of “types” for women performers in the theater and other media. Collaboration’s “Gender Breakdown” is a performance piece on how women are subject to many cattle calls just based on how they look, and how certain women – especially those of color and ethnicity – will not even be considered for roles that involve romance or portraying a lead protagonist, for example…even when doing scene training in college. The stories are direct and authentic, and burst from the hearts of the storytellers. It runs in Chicago through March 19th, 2017 (see link below).

CHICAGO – The premiere of a director’s first feature film is a major evolutionary moment for the cinema artist, and Layne Marie Williams will debut “Dollface” this Friday, June 10th, 2016, at the Canvas event space in Wicker Park in Chicago. The film features Hannah Kopen in one of the lead roles, and the premiere will be part of a gallery/cinema fusion called SINtegrate. For complete details, click here.
