CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Dan Baker on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on February 29th, 2024, reviewing “Dune Part Two,” the highly anticipated continuation of director Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of author Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic. In theaters beginning March 1st, 2024.

Timothée Chalamet returns as Paul Atreides, a Duke from his deceased father’s House of Atreides on Planet Caladan. At the end of the first part, he has joined the native Fremen warriors on the desert planet of Arrakis – the source of the sought-after spice mineral – to fight their common enemy the Harkonnen. His arrival is suspect, with some Fremen believing he is the Savior, and others … including his skeptical companion Chani (Zendaya) … not trusting his motives.

Meanwhile his mother Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) has replaced the shaman-like Reverend Mother in the Fremen tribe, providing her and her unborn daughter gifts of prophecy, which further heightens the Savior Paul claim. This leads to the inevitable confrontation with the Harkonnen, with old allies Gurney (Josh Brolin) and new enemies, including Fade-Rautha (Austin Butler), the future King of the Hark-onnen.
