Film News: First Trailer Released For Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’

CHICAGO – The exciting trailers for next year’s blockbusters just keep coming. Only a few days after “The Dark Knight Rises” had its first full length trailer released, Peter Jackson’s long awaited prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy finally has a trailer.

Released late this evening, we finally have our first look at “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” Planned for a December 14, 2012 release, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is another film set in middle earth directed by Peter Jackson and starring the likes of Ian McKellen as Gandalf.

The first of two Hobbit movies, the trailer for “An Unexpected Journey” introduces us to a majority of the cast of characters that will make up the new film, as well as appearances by some of our old favorite characters (Gandalf, Galadriel, and Gollum). Judging by the first look, we are definitely in for a treat. It appears the magic that Jackson had with the Lord of the Rings trilogy is still alive with “The Hobbit.” If you haven’t had the chance to see the new trailer, you can check it out here:
