Winslow Fegley on set for ‘Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made.’

CHICAGO – In a film that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and dropped on February 7th, 2020, at the relatively new Disney+ streaming service, “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made,” already has proved its viability. The film is based on the youth fiction series by Stephan Pastis, who wrote the screenplay with director Tom McCarthy (“Spotlight”).

CHICAGO – If your impression of a book club is one of staid pseudo-intellectuals creating pithy symbolism out of nothingness, then your impression is about to change. Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen star in the new comedy “Book Club,” co-written by Erin Simms and director Bill Holderman.

CHICAGO – Quirky Greta Gerwig is at it again (being quirky), and this time she’s looking for solutions in “Maggie’s Plan.” The made-in-New-York-City film has overtures of Woody Allen, combined with “Crossing Delancey.” Director Rebecca Miller (“Personal Velocity”) produces a valentine to all her influences and settings.

CHICAGO – Tina Fey, love her. Paul Rudd, like his work, he’s a Judd Apatow guy. Wallace Shawn in “The Princess Bride,” exquisite. Lily Tomlin is a comedy legend. All these great and interesting performers participated in “Admission,” for which they all get an “F.”
