Here is the plot description for “Sanctum”:

The 3-D action/thriller “Sanctum” from executive producer James Cameron follows a team of underwater cave divers on a treacherous expedition to the largest, most beautiful and least accessible cave system on Earth. When a tropical storm forces them deep into the caverns, they must fight raging water, deadly terrain and creeping panic as they search for an unknown escape route to the sea.

Master diver Frank McGuire (Richard Roxburgh) has explored the South Pacific’s Esa-ala Caves for months. But when his exit is cut off in a flash flood, Frank’s team – including 17-year-old son, Josh (Rhys Wakefield), and financier Carl Hurley (Ioan Gruffudd) – are forced to radically alter their plans. With dwindling supplies, the crew must navigate an underwater labyrinth to make it out. Soon, they are confronted with the unavoidable question: Can they survive or will they be trapped forever?

Shot on location off the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, “Sanctum” employs 3-D photography techniques Cameron developed to lens “Avatar”. Designed to operate in extreme environments, the technology used to shoot the action/thriller will bring audiences on a breathless journey across plunging cliffs and into the furthest reaches of our subterranean world.

NO

You said it in the question: life or death. If my life is on the line, I’ll do what it takes.

Survival

I would do anything and kill anyone who stood in my way. Well, at least that’s the survival fantasy. Who knows what might occur in a real death match? Fingers crossed that I’ll never have to find out. I’m sure James Cameron concocted surreal odds! Can’t wait. How kewl that you’re offering passes.

To live or die...tough one.

Well survival is all subjective. What do you consider survival? If you were to do whatever it takes to survive but you lost all of your limbs in the process, would it be worth it? If you were to survive and you would be paralyzed from the neck down, is it worth it? Every thing in the life you survived for would no longer matter. A job is a lot harder to do when you are paralyzed or limbless. Obviously, surviving in one piece would be ideal, but that may not be the case. I would rather save those around me if I was with a party with every fiber of my being, and if that means sacrificing my own life in the process, then so be it. Death and life are all things that have to be looked at in a bigger perspective, and more often than not, people are so self absorbed that they neglect to look at the bigger picture. It really is a shame that more people cannot be more altruistic.

In a life or death situation:

I would have to think what is worth giving my life for. That is not very difficult I have kids, so for them I would sacrifice my life, everything else step aside no limits to what I would do to survive :-)

People will do what ever they can to survive

There is nothing I would not do my survival would come first. I would be of no use to my family if I was to perish.
